When it comes to making the right investment, Highland Capital Management is focused on supporting educational opportunities that empower our youth. We have donated millions of dollars to worthy causes to help improve our local communities.
We recently announced a $2 million donation to Southern Methodist University’s Tower Scholars Program Fund, which provides outstanding undergraduate students with exposure to public policymaking, access to key global leaders, opportunities for study-abroad initiatives and meaningful senior-year internships.
We are also a strong supporter of Reasoning Mind, a nonprofit whose innovative approach to math education greatly improves achievement scores for students around the United States. The organization provides a self-paced approach to learning – including game features, online curriculums, teacher support initiatives and student engagement tools.
Co-founder and Chief Investment Officer Mark Okada shares my passion for education and serves as a director for Education is Freedom. The nonprofit organization provides college planning services for high school and middle school students in North Texas who, without help, could not pursue higher education.
Additionally, Highland Capital Management is a supporter of other meaningful organizations, including the George W. Bush Presidential Library and Institute, the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, Snowball Express, Uplift Education, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Capital for Kids and the Dallas Zoo just to name a few.
Once again, I believe there is no better return on investment than helping individuals enhance their own educational efficiencies and opportunities in becoming the leaders of tomorrow.
